Artist Statement
Brenda Gale’s paintings are of vacations and good times remembered. The work is bright, bold and colorful, with a contemporary flowing style and a bit of cheerful whimsy and humor. Brenda paints everything, including people, pets, animals, landscapes, seascapes, and architecture. She is also happy to paint personalized commissions.
Right out of high school, Brenda worked for Buzza-Cardozza Greeting Cards, doing watercolor cards. She later graduated from Platt College of Design, and consequently became a graphic designer. Brenda honed her portraiture skills by doing realistic pastel quick sketch portraits on Olvera Street in Los Angeles, which led to doing many commissioned watercolor and acrylic portraits while living in Manhattan Beach, CA. She has illustrated for Harcourt-Brace Jovanovich, which publishes children’s classroom books. Brenda has won several art show awards and been accepted into a prestigious show at the San Luis Obispo Art Museum. She has also done large, private and public murals.
